Day 1 Camp Activities from Last Year
Day 1 at the ESE Camp for Kids included seeing a demonstration of a volcanic eruption, identifying rocks and minerals, visiting UIUC’s Arboretum, and a live chat with a NASA scientist! The learning objectives for Day 1 included understanding the potential hazards of explosive volcanic eruptions and learning about Earth’s building blocks and the importance of dissolved oxygen for water quality fish habitats.
Day 2 Camp Activities from Last Year
Day 2 at the ESE Camp for Kids included developing an interactive web map, measuring levels of air pollution, observing the local weather, and creating a poster presentation with your fellow campers! The learning objectives for Day 2 included introduction of basic Python coding, importance of air pollution, how to measure weather parameters, and team building.
